Dreams Do Come True

I had just gotten out of a relationship which at the time I thought it
was serious, but destiny proved me to be very wrong. I was working part
time in a mall in Chicago. One  day I was standing at the register chatting
with my friend and I turned my head to see a man walking out of the back
room. As I turned to ask my friend who he was, my manager started introducing
him to me. His name was Rick and I truly felt love at first sight.

Days passed and looks were exchanged from time to time, but nothing was
ever said. Then one day he asked me, "Do you want to go have a smoke?"
We started talking about life and my feelings for him began to grow.
We both had to return to work so I told him I would call him later, but
before I walked away he looked into my eyes and told me he thought I
was beautiful inside and out and he would love for me to be his girlfriend.

Later that day I called him at work and asked him if he wanted to get
a bite to eat later? With a surprised tone he accepted my invitation.
We went to a restaurant in the mall and talked for what seemed like forever.
I felt love for him right away even though he was a man I didn't know
anything about. As we started talking I looked into his eyes and knew
we were destined to be. After lunch he headed back to work and being
the respectful man he was he gave me a kiss on the cheek and thanked
me for inviting him to lunch. Shortly thereafter, we finally decided
to go on our first real date. We ended up in downtown Chicago. We took
a walk by the Chicago River and we just stood there looking at the water
for a couple of hours. It was the weirdest thing though, we really didn't
say much, but I walked away from that moment feeling like we shared a
million words. When we got to the end of the date as I was dropping him
off at his car, he leaned over and gave me a kiss that was so powerful,
I knew I would never forget it.

Rick paged me later on that night to see if I got home okay - which I
thought was sweet of him considering he had to drive about 45 minutes
to get home and I had only a ten minute drive. The next day I was scheduled
to work. I was so nervous because I didn't know what to expect next.
As soon as I walked in I saw him and I just melted. He told me to look
in the back room because he had something for me. He bought this beautiful
Blue Mountain card and two Hershey's Kisses in the envelope. The card
explained how much of a impact I left on him. At the bottom of the card
he wrote, "Here's two kisses from me: one for now, and one for after
work." My heart just grew so much love for him. I knew at that moment
that he was a angel sent to me from above. Of course I had to go buy
him something to show him just how much I cared for him. So I bought
him a photo album and a card as well. In the photo album I put "Rick
& Mary's photo album." I inscribed the card, "I hope we can fill this
album with beautiful memories of us."

It wasn’t but a few days later that Rick confessed his love for me, and
the feeling was mutual. One night we talked over the phone and he told
me everything about himself and that night I felt closer to him than
ever before. In our conversation that night he told me he had a son;
Antonio. When I finally met his son, that same feeling of love at first
sight hit me all over again. It was engraved in my head that these two
guys were going to be the two people that I would love unconditionally,
next to my father and my brother of course.

Our relationship kind of fell into place after that, and here we are
months later more in love than ever. I still feel like I'm in a dream.
As the days go by my thankfulness to God gets greater for bringing me
what I can say with no doubt or regret, my soulmate forever.

Good things come to the those who wait. It's hard I know, everyone has
had their share of lost love and heart break, but there is a light at
the end of the tunnel. My light’s name is Rick A. Moy. He has given me
the strength and the belief that dreams do come true.
